Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL is, quite simply, the best toaster oven I've ever owned. My wife and both love it. It works great, looks great, and feels solid. Yes, it's a lot more expensive than a traditional Black & Decker style toaster over, but Breville Compact Smart Oven BOV650XL is worth it in my opinion. I've owned it for a few months now and we are still talking about how much better it is than any other toaster over we've owned.

Most ovens have elements with fixed wattage that can only switch between ON and OFF, but Element IQ functions much like a dimmer on a light switch, increasing or decreasing element power with a simple turn of the knob.

So how does Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL work? Well, it's hard to say, because he doesn't talk much about it... HE NEVER COMPLAINS! Success!! I got him something that he can't complain about! *shocking* But seriously, though, if you've ever tried to toast Sandwich Thins or Bagel Thins, you probably know that those things are ridiculously impossible to toast without turning them into cardboard or charcoal.

The Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL, though, laughs at them! It laughs a hearty evil laugh while it toasts finicky things to perfection! Granted, it did take a couple of tries to figure out which setting works best, since Breville Compact Smart Oven BOV650XL doesn't have a pre-programmed setting for Sandwich Thins, but once he got the right setting, it was as easy as the push of a button to get perfect toast every time.

There isn't much more that I can say about this Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL, but it was definitely worth every penny. This is our first Breville purchase and I can assure you, it is far, far from our last. I'm already excited about getting more Breville toys!

Bought the Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL on top review by "Cook's Illustrated", after throwing out a fairly new Black and Decker, which never toasted bread, just petrified it. Loved Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL from the first. Attractive, solidly built, easy to clean, versatile. I have no issue with the rack that doesn't pop out by itself, never had one that did.

Only negatives are the size (even this smaller unit is large for most counters), and price. Purchased Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL from Amazon warehouse, and got what looks like a new unit in original packaging. Liked it so well bought a second one in a smaller size (William Sonoma exclusive) for another location. Toasts wonderfully, handles all cooking I would ever use it for. This model is not convection, not an issue. Highly recommended!

I searched the internet for toaster ovens and read all the pros and cons of each product out there. It was quite obvious that most everyone was well pleased with the Breville Smart Ovens. We purchased the Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL as a gift for our Daughter. Before giving it to her I wanted to try it out to make sure it worked properly. I read the Booklet that came with the Oven and followed the instructions to the letter.

By doing so, we learned how to operate the Breville Toaster Oven BOV650XL and everything worked fine. We made three slices of Toast which came out perfect. Since our daughter's kitchen counter is small she was happy with the size of the oven. After using it she is really happy with it.
